Our Better Angels

New Angel workshop!

A Zoom workshop

Saturday November 23rd
10am – 4pm ET
$95

I need to do something positive for myself and hopefully for other creators in polymer. So I’m going to be talking to my better angels by asking them to show up on my wall pieces. Would you like to join me?

Scroll down to see some of the angels created by the attend these of my first Our Better Angels workshop. With this workshop you will be included in a private facebook group created for sharing angels made with the workshop, past and future. Share, get ideas, and I’ll be there to answer questions if you have any.

My angel showed up on my trip in my RV to Colorado this summer and I was so happy to have her with me and remind me who I am. Come join me and let your angel come through.

Don’t worry, I can hear you saying right now, “I can’t do a face like that”. Yes! you can, come on and I’ll show you how.

Paper to Polymer

coming soon
$190.00

www.alicestroppel.com

Day one – We’ll be using pages from magazines to create small collages that can be use as prompts for much larger polymer wall pieces. These collages are wonderful ways to explore color, shapes composition and mark making. I’ll show you several way to translate your paper collage into polymer using many techniques.

One hour mid week check-in – Stop in if you have questions or need help.

Day two – continuation of techniques and final construction using the components created on day one.  I’ll be concentrating on larger pieces, 9″x11″ and 11″x14, but these techniques can be used on smaller pieces as well.

As soon as I receive your payment for this workshop I will send you the supply list.

This first piece was inspired by several artists, Rex Ray was the main influencer.

Lots of patterns and colors from several magazines contributed to this postcard and others below. Lots inspiration for many of the techniques I’ll be teaching.

I’ve always admired Georgia O’Keeffe’s large flowers. I created many versions of paper flowers for this piece.

Workshops in my online school

Cane mapped extruded fish - Alice StroppelOver the last few years I’ve added many new workshops to my online school. I have several free workshop you might want to check out. Here’s the link to Polymer clay workshops with Alice Stroppel.

Extruded cane mapping - Alice StroppelExtruded cane mapping - Alice Stroppel

These are just a few of the workshops I offer.

The extrusion workshop consists of thirteen videos that equal over an hour of instruction.

This workshop will show you how to make small unique canes from extruded polymer clay. You can use these canes to make everything from buttons beads and pendants to cane mapped pieces.

It’s only about the techinque used in making the canes, not the finished pieces.

It’s all part of building your cane inventory so that when you are ready to begin a project you have many canes to choose from.

I use lots of extruded cane in my cane mapping pieces.

The butterfly on the left is made with both extruded canes and traditional canes. The one on the right is all extrusions.

If you love mosaics, color and polymer clay, if you love the look of complex canes but simply don’t want to create a giant complex cane, if you love one of a kind pieces, and if you have tons of left over canes, this is the can mapping workshop for you!

This is the workshop I teach at my Sebring Studio and around the country at polymer clay guilds and retreats. The difference is you can rewind and watch each step over and over if you want.

In almost 2 hours of videos you’ll learn the basics by cane mapping this fish portrait and the butterfly on the left above. I’ll show you a few unexpected canes and different slices that you can incorporate into your designs.

This is an intermediate class and having some Skinner blended canes in your stash will make your designs pop.

Thanks so much for taking a look .

Welcome

Workshops with Alice Stroppel

I have a casual approach to working with polymer clay. That doesn’t mean I don’t try to create seriously fabulous pieces. Sometimes succeeding, sometime not, but always not afraid to open that block of clay.

Most of all I have to have fun, laugh while I work and hopefully share that joy with other.

These online workshop are self-paced, you’ll be able to access all modules at once and watch them as many times as you want. With no time limits you can progress at your own pace. Your membership will never expire.

I teach techniques along with projects. I intend to share with you how I approach my creative process and tool, shortcuts and techniques I find most helpful to speed my productivity.

So glad to have you join me at my online workshops.

This is also the place to find out about my virtual Zoom workshops. I’ve been having so much fun meeting new friends and reconnecting with polymer people I’ve met over the years. I hope you’ll join me sometime.
